Why now is the perfect time to make a change

After what feels like months of grey skies, cold mornings, endless rain, there is a new shift in the
air…. Lighter mornings, warmer air, blossom blooming and the birds' dawn chorus even louder – it is
not just nature that responds to this seasonal change, but we do too.
If you have been feeling stuck, low in energy or even disconnected from yourself over the winter
months, you are definitely not alone; in fact, it is completely natural. Winter is a time for slowing
down, cosy clothes, comfort food, family and time out, yet we are told to ‘reinvent’ ourselves in
January. To set big goals, to change habits overnight, to sign up to that gym and to become the ‘best’
version of ourselves, its no wonder by February so many of us feel like we have failed.
The truth is, the winter months are definitely not a natural time for change.
Why Spring Changes Everything
Spring, however, is different. It is a season of fresh beginnings, new energy and possibilities. It is
When your body naturally feels more awake, your motivation returns and often we have a mindset
shift from ‘getting through’ to really wanting to ‘move forward’.
You may even notice some subtle changes without actually ‘doing’ anything;
More energy without really trying
Thinking about doing things differently
Feel ready to make a start
Have more motivation
Getting clarity on many things
Ready for better self-care
This is your body and mind working with the season and not against it.
A Gentle Approach
For many midlife women, the idea of change can be overwhelming, especially if it is tied to pressure,
restriction or even unrealistic expectations but change doesn’t look like that. If you want ‘real’
change, it needs to be slower, supportive and sustainable so that you can achieve your desired
results. If it is easy then is it worth having?
Think of it like this, instead of asking ‘What do I need to fix or change’?
Ask yourself this…. ‘What would help me to feel good again?’
Some ideas could be
Refresh your wardrobe as we transition into spring/summer
Let go of the clothes that no longer reflect who you are
Reconnect with colours and styles that lift you
Improve the appearance of the dull winter skin
Make small changes that will support your energy, health and wellbeing
Create simple habits that feel doable but one at a time
This is the season to really begin
(I am too)
This isn’t about overhauling your entire life. It is not something to rush or to be perfect at but if you
have been wanting to make changes and have been waiting for the perfect time, then this honestly
is it. Spring is here to give you a gentle nudge and a natural sense of momentum and that is all you
need to begin because as we all know, taking the first step is the hardest.
Ready to take the first step?
If you are really ready to make a change be it in how you look, feel or your wellbeing, you don’t have
to do it alone. Helping midlife women reconnect with themselves in a way that feels natural,
supporting and completely personal to them is what I offer, after all, we are not a ‘one size fits all’!
These aren’t drastic measures but small meaningful steps that really do help you to feel like you
again and are you aware, that in midlife, it is actually the BEST time to do it as we really feel that
shift to want to make that change and suddenly it hits us, that for years we have nurtured everyone
else but now it really does become all about you and you have time for it too.

discover where you are and what you feel you need right now to make a start in the right direction.
